Night Archives – A Practice Sharing (2025)

“Very moving and intimate. I felt like you were speaking to us from the unconscious or dream world, but I felt every word in its truth”

Night Archives – a practice sharing @ Hoxton Hall, 2025

Sometimes, at around 3am or so, Jan-Ming cannot sleep. She gets up and practices movement and writing, mostly in the darkness. In nearby spaces divided by walls, others are trying to dream and sleep. Jan-Ming prepares her own space so others in the house don’t come to interrupt her. She finds more parts of herself, and stories that she has been carrying during the day, that can now be witnessed or released or expressed. Stories her family told her, sometimes help her move through this, and after that, she can sleep.

She is now evolving this by sharing stages of the practice with a live audience. This is one of the versions which can help her develop a future version that could be a performance. You are invited to this unfinished practice in progress, where you are welcome to ‘home’ with Jan-Ming and each other.
